What is new on the Galaxy S26 Ultra
Samsung announced the S26 series on 25 February 2026, and the Ultra went on sale in March. It keeps everything Ultra buyers love and adds a few things no other phone has.
Privacy Display
The S26 Ultra can make its screen hard to read from the side, at the touch of a button. It is built into the panel, so you do not need a privacy screen protector. It is useful on matatus, in banking halls and in open offices, when you are checking M-Pesa or work email.
The fastest Galaxy yet
Every S26 Ultra, including the units sold in Africa, uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy. It handles 4K video editing, heavy games and Galaxy AI features without slowing down. The 1TB version comes with 16GB of RAM; the others have 12GB.
A pro camera in your pocket
The 200MP main camera is joined by a 50MP ultra-wide, a 50MP 5x telephoto and a 10MP 3x telephoto. That gives you sharp photos at 0.6x, 1x, 3x, 5x and 10x, plus excellent night shots. The 12MP front camera records 4K video.
60W charging and long support
The 5,000mAh battery now supports 60W wired charging, the fastest on any Galaxy phone, plus wireless charging. The S26 Ultra launched on Android 16 with One UI 8.5, and Samsung supports it with OS and security updates until 2033.
