Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8: The Thinnest Flip Ever, Now in Kenya
Meet the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8, Samsung's eighth-generation clamshell foldable, unveiled at Galaxy Unpacked July 2026 in London and now available at Galaxy Brandstore Nairobi for KSH 125,000. At just 6.1mm thin unfolded and 180g, it is the slimmest Galaxy Z Flip ever made — pairing a 6.9-inch 120Hz Dynamic AMOLED 2X main display with a smarter 4.1-inch FlexWindow, a 50MP OIS camera with ProVisual Engine, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chipset, and a 4,300mAh silicon-carbon battery, all running Galaxy AI 3.0 on Android 17 (One UI 9).

Why Buy the Galaxy Z Flip8 in Kenya?
The Galaxy Z Flip8 is the most refined flip phone Samsung has ever built. Folded, it is smaller than a playing card and slips into any pocket or clutch bag; unfolded, it is a full 6.9-inch flagship. As the newest member of the Samsung Galaxy Z series in Kenya — alongside the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra — it brings flagship Snapdragon power, a smarter cover screen, and Galaxy AI 3.0 to a design that turns heads everywhere from Westlands to Nyali. Read our hands-on Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Flip8 review for the full breakdown.
With 7 years of OS upgrades and security updates, your investment stays protected and current well into the 2030s. The official Galaxy Z Flip8 product page confirms every specification on this page. The 24-month Samsung warranty in Kenya from Galaxy Brandstore covers you for two years — essential peace of mind for a premium foldable.
Why Buy from Galaxy Brandstore? Kenya's premier Samsung retailer. Located at Superior Center, Shop G7, Ground Floor, Kimathi Street, Nairobi. Open Monday-Saturday 8:00 AM - 7:30 PM. Same-day pickup, professional foldable setup, data transfer, and comprehensive after-sales support.
Galaxy Z Flip8 Design: 6.1mm Thin, 180g Light
The Galaxy Z Flip8 makes a strong first impression with its thin, lightweight design. Measuring just 6.1mm when unfolded (13.1mm folded) and weighing only 180g, it is the slimmest and lightest Galaxy Z Flip ever — 13% thinner than the Galaxy Z Flip7. A stronger Advanced Armor Aluminum frame and a more durable hinge built with a new high-strength material improve durability while maintaining the slim profile, and the refined hinge structure reduces crease visibility on the main display.
Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protects the cover screen, while a glass fiber-reinforced polymer back keeps weight down without feeling cheap. From boardrooms in Upper Hill to evenings in Westlands, the Galaxy Z Flip8 is a phone people notice — and one built to survive real Kenyan daily life.
4.1" FlexWindow: Do More Without Unfolding
One of the Galaxy Z Flip8's biggest upgrades is its more versatile FlexWindow cover screen. The 4.1-inch Super AMOLED panel now runs at an adaptive 60-120Hz refresh rate — finally as fluid as the main display — and lets you check important information and access your favorite features without ever opening the phone.
Now Brief on FlexWindow
Instantly see the day's weather, schedule, and important notifications from the cover screen. Everyday information like exchange rates and stock updates is organized into personalized cards — perfect for checking the KES-USD rate before a business meeting.
Full Apps on the Cover Screen
Browse photos in Gallery, chat on WhatsApp and messaging apps, reply to texts, and quickly complete tasks without unfolding. A new Recent Apps feature lets you switch quickly between apps like Maps and Music right on the FlexWindow.
Cover Screen Selfies
Use the flagship 50MP main camera for selfies with a live preview on the FlexWindow — the sharpest selfies possible on any phone, with no equivalent on traditional slab phones.
Now Nudge Agentic AI
Galaxy AI 3.0's personal data engine anticipates your needs as you move between apps — suggesting calendar entries when a colleague mentions a meeting, or surfacing the right card at the right moment on your FlexWindow.
6.9" Dynamic AMOLED 2X: A Full Flagship When Unfolded
Open the Galaxy Z Flip8 and a 6.9-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display unfolds before you — 2520 x 1080 resolution, a cinematic 21:9 aspect ratio, and LTPO 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rate that scales intelligently to save battery. HDR10+ support makes Netflix, Showmax, and YouTube look stunning, while the reduced-visibility crease keeps the viewing experience clean and immersive.
Whether you are editing documents in Flex Mode, watching content hands-free at a cafe, or video-calling family with the phone half-folded on a table, the Galaxy Z Flip8 adapts to how you actually use a phone.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8 Camera: 50MP OIS with ProVisual Engine
50MP Main Camera with OIS
The Galaxy Z Flip8 carries a 50MP wide-angle main camera with an f/1.8 aperture, Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), and an 85-degree field of view. Samsung's upgraded ProVisual Engine improves Night Mode, portrait bokeh, colors, and skin tones — delivering sharper low-light shots at Nairobi restaurants and evening events than any previous Flip.
12MP Ultra Wide + 10MP Selfie Camera
The 12MP f/2.2 ultra-wide camera captures a 123-degree field of view — ideal for Rift Valley landscapes and group shots — while the 10MP front camera handles crisp video calls. Flex Mode selfies use the main 50MP sensor with FlexWindow preview for flagship-quality self-portraits.
Creator Video Tools: Camcorder Grip, Dual Recording, My Fan Cam
The Galaxy Z Flip8 is built for content creators. Camcorder Grip — exclusive to the Galaxy Z Flip series — enables stable one-handed recording by holding the half-folded phone like a classic camcorder. Super Steady with Horizontal Lock keeps footage smooth and level even on the move. Dual Recording captures both the creator and the subject in the same video — perfect for vlogs and social media challenges — while My Fan Cam uses Galaxy AI to identify a subject and automatically create a cropped video that follows them throughout the recording.
Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5: Flagship Power in a Flip
For the first time in two generations, the Flip returns to flagship Snapdragon silicon. The Galaxy Z Flip8 runs the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy — the same custom chipset powering the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra — paired with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and fast UFS 4.0 storage. Multitasking in Multi Window, gaming, and Galaxy AI processing all run without a performance ceiling. (Select markets receive the 2nm Exynos 2600 variant.)
With 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage (512GB option available), Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, USB 3.2 Type-C, NFC for contactless payments, and full 5G support for Safaricom 5G and Airtel 5G, the Galaxy Z Flip8 is as capable as any 2026 flagship — it just happens to fold in half.
4,300mAh Silicon-Carbon Battery: Thinner Phone, Same Endurance
The Galaxy Z Flip8 adopts silicon-carbon battery technology — a first for Samsung phones. Silicon-carbon cells pack higher energy density into less space, which is exactly how Samsung made this Flip 13% thinner while keeping a full 4,300mAh capacity. The new chemistry also runs cooler under load and retains capacity better over hundreds of charge cycles — real benefits for a phone you will use for years.
Charging is 25W wired and 15W wireless (Qi2-compatible), with 4.5W Wireless PowerShare for topping up your Galaxy Buds 3 Pro or Galaxy Watch8 on the go. No charger is included in the box — pair it with the genuine Samsung 25W fast charger or the Samsung 45W PD adapter at Galaxy Brandstore.
Built for Real Life: IP48, Armor Aluminum, Victus 2
The Galaxy Z Flip8 pairs an IP48 rating (water immersion protection plus resistance to solid particles larger than 1mm) with an Advanced Armor Aluminum frame and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the cover screen. The new high-strength hinge material is engineered for hundreds of thousands of folds — open and close it 100 times a day for years with confidence.
And if the unexpected happens, Galaxy Brandstore's Samsung mobile repair center in Nairobi handles foldable screen and hinge repairs — including our dedicated Galaxy Z Flip screen replacement service — with expert fitting and quality-tested parts.
IP48 rating: protected against immersion in fresh water and against solid objects larger than 1mm. Not dust-tight. Water resistance is not permanent and may diminish over time with normal wear.
Android 17, One UI 9, Galaxy AI 3.0 — and 7 Years of Updates
The Galaxy Z Flip8 launches with Android 17 and One UI 9, the most refined One UI to date, with 7 years of major OS upgrades and security updates — the longest support commitment Samsung has ever made. Galaxy AI 3.0 with deep Gemini integration brings Now Brief, Now Nudge, real-time translation, and Gemini Notebook preloaded for turning PDFs and meeting recordings into summaries, slides, and quizzes.
Switching from an iPhone? The improved Smart Switch migrates your photos, videos, messages, and app data in minutes — our team at Galaxy Brandstore will do the full transfer and setup for you in-store, free with every purchase.
Galaxy Z Flip8 Colors: Graphite, Pink, Cream & Mint
The Galaxy Z Flip8 comes in three retail colors — Graphite, Pink, and Cream — with Mint available as an online exclusive. All finishes feature Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection on the cover screen and a fingerprint-resistant matte touch.
Color availability may vary depending on stock at Galaxy Brandstore. Contact us at +254 712 939 925 to confirm your preferred color.

Does the Galaxy Z Flip8 support 5G in Kenya?
Yes, the Galaxy Z Flip8 supports 5G and works fully on Safaricom 5G and Airtel 5G networks across Kenya, with seamless 4G LTE fallback where 5G is unavailable. It also supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 for the fastest local connections.
Is the Galaxy Z Flip8 water resistant?
The Galaxy Z Flip8 has an IP48 rating: protected against water immersion and solid particles larger than 1mm. It handles rain and splashes confidently, but it is not dust-tight — avoid exposing the hinge to sand and fine dust, and never submerge it deliberately. Water resistance may diminish over time with normal wear.
What colors is the Galaxy Z Flip8 available in?
The Galaxy Z Flip8 comes in Graphite, Pink, and Cream at retail, with Mint as a Samsung.com online exclusive. Color availability in Kenya may vary by stock at Galaxy Brandstore — call +254 712 939 925 to confirm your preferred color.
What is the battery capacity of the Galaxy Z Flip8?
The Galaxy Z Flip8 has a 4,300mAh silicon-carbon battery — the same capacity as the Flip7 but with better energy density, cooler thermals, and slower long-term degradation. Charging: 25W wired, 15W wireless (Qi2-compatible), and 4.5W Wireless PowerShare. No charger is included in the box.
What can you do on the Galaxy Z Flip8 FlexWindow cover screen?
The 4.1-inch FlexWindow now runs at adaptive 60-120Hz and supports Now Brief (weather, schedule, notifications), full apps including Gallery and messaging, quick text replies, Recent Apps switching, and live camera preview for 50MP main-camera selfies — all without unfolding the phone.
Where can I buy a genuine Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8 in Kenya?
You can buy the genuine Galaxy Z Flip8 at Galaxy Brandstore, located at Superior Center, Shop G7, Ground Floor, Kimathi Street, Nairobi. We offer genuine devices with a 24-month warranty, M-Pesa payments, free setup and data transfer, and nationwide delivery. Browse the full Galaxy Z series collection for more options.
How does the Galaxy Z Flip8 compare to the Galaxy Z Flip7?
The Galaxy Z Flip8 is thinner (6.1mm vs 6.5mm), lighter (180g vs 188g), runs the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 (vs Exynos 2500), adds a 60-120Hz adaptive FlexWindow (vs 60Hz), switches to a silicon-carbon battery, and ships with Android 17 / One UI 9 and Galaxy AI 3.0. The cameras remain 50MP + 12MP, now with the improved ProVisual Engine. If you own a Galaxy Z Flip7, the upgrade is worthwhile mainly for the chipset and cover screen; from a Flip6 or older, it is a major leap.
Is the crease visible on the Galaxy Z Flip8?
Samsung refined the hinge mechanism and display structure on the Galaxy Z Flip8, making the crease significantly less visible than on previous generations — the best foldable display structure Samsung has shipped on a Flip. In everyday use it disappears from view during reading and video playback.
How many years of updates does the Galaxy Z Flip8 get?
The Galaxy Z Flip8 receives 7 years of major Android OS upgrades and security updates from launch — Samsung's longest-ever commitment — keeping your foldable current and secure well past 2030.
Does the Galaxy Z Flip8 support M-Pesa and mobile banking?
Absolutely. The Galaxy Z Flip8 runs M-Pesa and all Kenyan banking apps smoothly on Safaricom and Airtel networks, protected by Samsung Knox Vault hardware security with side-mounted fingerprint and face unlock. You can even check M-Pesa confirmation messages directly on the FlexWindow without unfolding.
Is the Galaxy Z Flip8 good for gaming?
Yes. The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy with 12GB LPDDR5X RAM handles demanding titles like PUBG Mobile, Call of Duty Mobile, and Genshin Impact at high settings smoothly. The 120Hz LTPO main display delivers fluid gameplay, and the silicon-carbon battery manages heat better than previous Flips.
What does the 24-month warranty cover?
Our 24-month warranty covers manufacturing defects, display and hinge faults (excluding physical damage), battery degradation, camera malfunctions, and software faults. Physical damage, liquid damage beyond IP48 limits, and unauthorized modifications are not covered. Galaxy Brandstore handles all warranty claims directly with Samsung Kenya.

Yes. Galaxy Brandstore accepts trade-ins on Samsung, iPhone, and other major brands. Bring your current device to our Kimathi Street shop for an on-the-spot valuation, and the amount is deducted from your Galaxy Z Flip8 purchase price instantly.
