Design and Durability: Thinner, Lighter, Tougher
Samsung's 2026 flagship foldable refines the book-style formula to its slimmest point yet — just 4.1mm thin when unfolded and 8.9mm folded, at only 215 grams. That makes it one of the thinnest and lightest large foldables you can buy in Kenya.
- Flex Titanium structure for rigidity without bulk
- Advanced Armor Aluminum frame with Gorilla Glass Victus 2 back
- Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3 protecting the cover display
- IP48 rating — dust protection and water resistance up to 1.5m for 30 minutes
- Refined Armor FlexHinge for a flatter, near-invisible crease
Accidents happen — if your foldable screen ever takes a knock, Galaxy Brandstore also offers genuine Samsung screen replacement in Kenya, including Galaxy Z Fold series screen replacement.
Display: An 8.0-Inch Cinema in Your Pocket
Unfold the Fold8 Ultra and you get an 8.0-inch Foldable Dynamic LTPO AMOLED 2X panel with a sharp 2256 x 2504 resolution, adaptive 1-120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ and a peak brightness of up to 3000 nits — clearly visible even under the bright Kenyan sun. It is the ideal canvas for multitasking, documents, gaming and streaming.
Closed, the 6.5-inch cover display with 120Hz refresh behaves like a full flagship phone: reply to M-Pesa messages, check maps or scroll social media one-handed without opening the device.
Performance: Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy
Powering this foldable is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy (3nm) with Oryon V3 cores clocked up to 4.74GHz and the Adreno 840 GPU — Samsung's fastest foldable chip ever. Paired with 12GB or 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of UFS storage, it handles console-grade gaming, 8K video editing and heavy split-screen multitasking without breaking a sweat.
- New graphite cooling system designed to prevent overheating under load
- Ray-traced gaming on the 120Hz foldable display
- Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0 and UWB for next-generation connectivity
- Side-mounted fingerprint sensor and Samsung Knox security
Camera: 200MP Pro-Grade Foldable Photography
Samsung's top foldable carries the most capable camera ever fitted to a Galaxy foldable: a 200MP main sensor with OIS (f/1.7), a 10MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom, and an upgraded 50MP ultrawide with a 120° field of view. Nightography low-light processing, 8K video at 30fps and 10-bit HDR recording come standard.

New Galaxy AI video tools
- My FanCam — AI tracks a subject and auto-reframes video into share-ready vertical clips
- Dual Recording — capture the scene and your reaction at the same time
- Cine LUTs — four cinematic colour profiles for professional-looking footage
- Super Steady video and Photo Assist editing with Galaxy AI
Both the 10MP cover camera and 10MP inner camera shoot crisp 4K selfie video — perfect for video calls on the big unfolded screen.
Battery and Charging: 5,000mAh That Keeps Up With You
For the first time on a Galaxy Fold, Samsung fits a 5,000mAh silicon-carbon battery — enough for a full day of heavy use on Safaricom or Airtel data, streaming and navigation. When you do need a top-up, 45W Super Fast Charging takes you to roughly 67% in 30 minutes. You also get 20W Qi2.2 wireless charging and 4.5W reverse wireless charging to power your Galaxy Watch8 or earbuds on the go.
Galaxy AI and One UI 9: Your Smartest Phone Yet
The Fold8 Ultra ships with Android 17 and One UI 9, backed by 7 years of OS and security updates — a phone you can confidently use well into the 2030s. Galaxy AI is woven through the whole experience:
- Now Brief and Now Nudge — proactive summaries and smart suggestions across your day
- Gemini Intelligence built in, with a 6-month Google AI Pro trial (5TB cloud storage) included
- Photo Assist — generative editing straight from the Gallery
- Personal Data Engine for on-device, privacy-first intelligence with Samsung Knox
- Smarter Smart Switch — move from iPhone by scanning a QR code, and Quick Share now works with AirDrop
Multitasking and Samsung DeX: A PC That Folds Into Your Pocket
The 8.0-inch canvas turns this foldable into a productivity machine. Run three apps in split view with floating pop-ups, drag and drop between windows, and pick up tasks on the cover screen exactly where you left them. Connect a monitor and Samsung DeX gives you a full desktop experience — ideal for Kenyan entrepreneurs, students and professionals who want one device for phone, tablet and PC duties.
