What you get with the Galaxy A57 5G
The A57 launched in April 2026 as the replacement for the A56. It is thinner, lighter and tougher, and it is the best A series phone you can buy in Kenya today.
A brighter Super AMOLED+ screen
The 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED+ display runs at 120Hz and reaches up to 1,900 nits peak brightness. Colours look rich, scrolling is smooth, and the screen stays readable outdoors. Gorilla Glass Victus+ protects it.
Thin, light and IP68
At just 6.9 mm thick and 179 g, the A57 is the slimmest A series phone yet. It has an aluminium frame and an IP68 rating, a step up from the A56’s IP67.
A faster chip
Samsung’s new Exynos 1680, built on a 4nm process, gives the A57 more speed and better graphics for games than the A56. It comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage. There is no microSD slot, so pick the 256GB model if you keep lots of photos and videos.
A camera you can trust
The 50MP main camera has optical image stabilisation (OIS) for sharp night photos and steady video. It is joined by a 12MP ultra-wide and a 5MP macro camera, plus a 12MP selfie camera.
Battery and updates
The 5,000mAh battery lasts a full day, and 45W charging fills it quickly (charger sold separately). The A57 launched on Android 16 with One UI 8.5, and Samsung promises six OS upgrades and six years of security updates, through 2032.

Should you upgrade from the A56 to the A57?
If you already own an A56, you do not need to rush. Both phones share the same screen size, a 50MP OIS camera, a 5,000mAh battery and 45W charging. The A57 is worth the upgrade if you want a lighter phone, better water protection or the longest software support. If you are coming from an A54, A55 or older, the A57 is a big step up in speed, screen brightness and battery life, and you will feel the difference from the first day.
Buying tips
- Choose 256GB if you shoot lots of video, because there is no memory card slot.
- Add a case and screen protector on day one; the thin glass back looks great but scratches easily without a case.
- Ask us to move your data from your old phone when you collect it.
Who the Galaxy A57 is for
- People who want a premium-feeling phone without paying for an S series flagship.
- Anyone upgrading from an A54, A55 or A56 who wants a thinner, tougher phone.
- Buyers who want IP68 water resistance and updates until 2032.
Is the Samsung Galaxy A57 worth it?
Yes. The A57 is the best all-round A series phone in 2026. It is noticeably thinner and lighter than the A56, adds IP68 protection and a faster chip, and will get updates for longer. If your budget allows, it is the A series phone we recommend most.
